Nilorn Unveils Revolutionary Innovation

jpg UK-based Nilorn Group announces an innovative RFID release in collaboration with Craft of Scandinavia: a self-inventory shop rack. Aimed at brands sold across a number of stores, it makes restocking more efficient, leading to increased sales and profitability.

Unveiled at a technical exhibition in Stockholm in October, the new self-inventory shop rack takes RFID a step further in supply chain management. Says Per Wagnås of the Nilorn Group: “Nilorn’s self-inventory shop rack allows brand owners to check sales trends in stores without having to make site visits. The brand owner programs the shop rack to take an inventory of the products currently in store. It then sends an e-mail with the current status back to the brand owner. The brand owner can then distribute more products to the store, so that it will always have the full range.”

The benefits can be seen particularly with goods such as underwear or shirts which need constant replacement and re-stocking. The Nilorn/Craft project has been developed in close collaboration with RFID-Constructors, the Finnish RFID company, Vilant, and the store fittings company, the ROL Group.

iGPS Announces Agreement with Imperial Sugar

jpg Intelligent Global Pooling Systems (iGPS Company LLC), operator of the world’s first RFID-tagged, all-plastic pallet pool, announces that it has signed an exclusive agreement to provide its innovative pallet pooling service to Imperial Sugar, one of the nation’s largest processors and marketers of sugar.

Imperial Sugar is the first sugar company to utilize iGPS’s fully traceable, 100% recyclable plastic pallets. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

"This partnership encapsulates many of Imperial Sugar's top priorities: innovation, excellent customer service, and environmental responsibility," says John Sheptor, Chief Operating Officer of Imperial Sugar. "RFID technology is the future of supply-chain management and we are proud to bring this innovation to the sugar industry."

"Imperial Sugar’s adoption of iGPS’s pallet pool is an important development in the steady growth of our company, and is further validation of the compelling value proposition we offer to the nation’s supply chain," says Bob Moore, CEO of iGPS. "Sugar is especially vulnerable to damage from broken boards and protruding nails on wood pallets. The proven strength and durability of our plastic pallet, along with its full-top-deck coverage, is an ideal match for Imperial Sugar.

iGPS’s pallet pooling service is revolutionizing today’s supply chain with GMA-compliant pallets that are 30% lighter than wood, eliminating unnecessary cost from the supply chain. They are also exceptionally durable, impervious to infestation and offer the added benefit of RFID tracking and tracing of loads. Visit www.igps.net.
