Makes a Splash at Dollyworld

jpg Dollywood's Splash Country, a water adventure theme park in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, implements the RFID Smart Band® Wristband System by Precision Dynamics Corporation (www.pdcorp.com) for daily and season pass water park guests. Guests use the wristbands just like cash for cashless point of sale (POS) at all merchandise and food locations within the park. Introduced to park guests as “Sunny Money,” Dollywood's Splash Country touts PDC's Smart Band® wristband as the easiest way “under the sun” to enjoy dining and shopping.

Guests walk up to any of the merchandise or retail locations located throughout the park running Applied Retail Solutions (ARS) OnePointe POS software, and the money is electronically loaded onto their water-proof wristbands using cash, credit, or debit cards. ARS made modifications to OnePointe, which allows Dollywood's Splash Country guests to put money on or pay with PDC's Smart Band® wristbands. Guests can also pay with the wristbands at Dollywood's MICROS Point of Sale system. ARS worked in concert with PDC and Herschend Family Entertainment (HFE) to deliver this solution in record time. Then, Smart Band® wristbands can be used at all merchandise, food, and restaurant locations throughout Dollywood's Splash Country. All information on the wristband is encrypted for guest security.

The contactless wristband system allows more time for the staff to focus on the park's total guest experience, according to Gary Nichols, Revenue Manager at Dollywood's Splash Country. “More importantly, our guests and their families love the ease and convenience of the wristbands,” he says. “Guests say they don't have to lug around their wallets, spend time trying to find a place to keep their money safe or having to wait in long lines. One swipe — they're done and are free to enjoy our water rides, get food or buy gifts. And in turn, that helps increase spending at our water park.”

(www.equineidsolutions.com) announce an agreement naming Animal ID Solutions an NCR RealPartner and reseller of the NCR TransitionWorks portfolio of automatic identification and data collection (AIDC) software solutions in Canada and the U.S. Animal ID Solutions, a systems integrator and consulting services company specializing in animal authentication technologies, including RFID and DNA footprints, will market and implement NCR TransitionWorks as part of its traceability solution for animal associations. The product allows for faster and more reliable identification, authentication, and tracking of animals.

Niceware Partners with epcSolutions
to Deliver Complete RFID Compliance Printing

Supporting the RFID functionality of the NiceLabel Pro edition in epcSolutions' RFID TagManager enables end-users to leverage the software and benefit from already existing (or new) NiceLabel deployments. End-users are empowered by the integrated ease-of-use of RFIDTagManager with the friendly design interface and the powerful RFID print engine of the NiceLabel software.
