Schober's 3rd Gen RFID Tag Inserter

Schober USA (www.schoberusa.com) releases its 3rd generation RFID tag inserter, which inserts UHF and HF inlays under die-cut blank or pre-printed labels and validates the finished product. Features, including a new pendant station that houses an industrial PC controls and monitors the process, make this a cost-effective product for transponders that work within ISO specifications in widths from 10 mm to 160 mm. Its standard features make it easy to operate and maintain. These include:

  • an automatic web guide system for base material
  • mechanical cross-register for transponders
  • auto-advance for missing transponders
  • a servo-driven labeling head for opaque and transparent label reels
  • an electronic re-winder with tension control for assembled labels

Pre-printed labels (widths from 20 mm to 200 mm) can be applied at rates from 5,000 to 20,000 labels per hour, and an onboard RFID reader ensures the readability of each RFID tag. Additional features include a new tag dispenser with web tension relief, strategically places start/stop buttons, and an optional static discharge protection.

bielomatik Smart Label Machine at CMM

bielomatik (www.biel-jag.com) will exhibit a TLA 165 E high speed smart label machine at CMM, demonstrating high volume HF/UHF smart label converting. This machine is representative of bielomatik's automated product line, whose various models offer the capability of converting, testing, and qualifying smart labels/tickets/cards.

Built on the same modular platform as bielomatik's high-end machines, the TLA 165 E will have the ability to accept rolls of blank or pre-printed labels and rolls of dry or pressure sensitive transponders in order to produce smart labels. With required high precision, a label is delaminated from its liner, a transponder is placed to register on the label liner, and the label is then re-laminated on top of the transponder/liner combination to create finished smart labels.

As with all of bielomatik's RFID machines a "live function test" is performed with RFID readers to identify and mark defective labels prior to winding. Also offer from bielomatik is the "Qualifier," which automatically identifies and replaces defective labels, assuring the output of rolls with 100% functional labels.
