RFID Education 101: Where to Find the Best Programs

By HaLeigh Boutin

RFID education programs are expanding almost as fast as the industry itself. And like the industry, standards and innovations are developing the way we gauge these programs. Universities and colleges around the world are integrating hands-on RFID learning and training into engineering, science, and business programs, while big name companies are offering their expertise to professionals looking to learn more. Inside this issue, you can find a list of schools, as well as a list of corporate academies with locations around the world to help place you on the right track to a higher RFID education.

Learning Your ABC(RFI)Ds

As the need for more trained RFID professionals grows, academic universities are reacting to this demand by adding new courses, testing labs, and training opportunities, many as part of a curriculum. Below is a chart of some of the many courses now offered at schools that specifically focus on RFID.

Commercial RFID Training Companies

RFID experts are spreading their knowledge and expertise to students enrolled in RFID training courses. Manufacturers, end-users, and the just-plain-curious are sure to find a course suitable for their needs, in a convenient location. The reach of these "academies" has spread throughout the world, jumping boarders and oceans. Courses are offered in over 25 locations in the U.S. with over 20 more spread throughout Canada, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, New Zealand, and Australia. Course topics range from the basics to CompTIA RFID+ Training and Certification. E-learning is also offered by RFID4U, RFID Revolution, and will soon be offered by Academia.
