The Sensormatic RFID Mobile Cart by ADT
ADT Security Services (www.adt.com), a part of Tyco Fire & Security, announces the introduction of a RFID mobile cart designed to provide RFID mobility within storage room and warehouse environments. The mobile cart lowers costs and increases inventory efficiencies by bringing RFID readers to tags instead of passing tags through stationary readers installed at the warehouse doors.
The Sensormatic RFID Mobile Cart is equipped with an EPCglobal Gen 2 UHF RFID reader by Impinj, and has antennas attaches to a 180 degree rotating extendable tower. The cart is powered by an onboard battery with an eight hour operating time, making it ideal for use in warehouses, distribution centers, and storage rooms. Easily maneuvered by one person, the cart reads RFID tags as it is pushes through a facility. The antenna tower extends up to 16 feet, reaching standardized shelving used in warehouse situations, and the antenna tower can be expanded and collapsed on demand. Inventory time is cut into a fraction of what is typically performed since the cart is more efficient at capturing tag reads in a shorter period of time than employees with handheld readers.
