Low Cost RFID Reader From SAVR Reads From Underneath Conveyor

SAVR Communications (www.savrcom.com) releases the Under Conveyor Reader, also known as the UCR-13. It is ideal for reading and writing tag data on bins, trays, and totes often used in closed-loop material handling, process control, sorting, order fulfillment, and W.I.P. applications. It is designed to be mounted below metal conveyor rollers and read/write to tags traveling above. The UCR-13 uses a 13.56 MHz RFID reader and is an alternative to conveyor portals and barcode solutions. The UCR-13 can be configured as a drop-in replacement for existing systems or individual readers. Typical read range is 6"-8" at standard power levels.
