BT Offers Full Asset Management Service

BT's Auto-ID Services (www.bt.com), in partnership with Wavetrend Technologies (www.wavetrend.net), launched a new RFID-enabled asset management service called BT AssetIntelligence. This service is aimed at businesses that depend on moving their product or product parts throughout the supply chain in reusable containers. RFID tags track every moveable asset across the entire supply chain to ensure the correct type and volume of items are in the right places at the right times. BT AssetIntelligence enables businesses to offer operational efficiencies with better management information and reporting. It reduces costs involved in manual counting and tracking.

"BT AssetIntelligence delivers fast and accurate moveable asset tracking," says Ross Hall, CEO, BT Auto-ID Services. "This is a tried and tested product delivering great results for our customers. The elimination of manual resources and asset losses saves money, and this combined with our managed service delivers risk free, effective, moveable asset management."

Military Compliance Solution Offered by Avery-Dennison RIS

Avery-Dennison Retail Information Services (RIS) announces a new RFID military compliance solution that allows vendors to quickly and cost effectively meet DoD mandates for using RFID labels on cartons and pallets and issuing advance ship notices. The label requirements apply to vendors shipping specified commodities to specific DoD distribution centers in PA and CA in addition to the existing DoD mandates for identifying cartons and pallets with barcoded Military Shipping Labels (MSL) that contain shipping data. These labels are produced by vendors with in-house label printing system or sources from service bureaus like Avery Dennison Ticket Express(tm), who manages DoD serial number usage by CAGE code.

"In a market where RFID label costs can be substantial, Avery-Dennison RIS consistently offers highly attractive pricing," notes Mischa Reis, Avery-Dennison RIS Marketing Director, RFID. "Suppliers that ship only small to medium quantities of cases to the DoD will especially benefit from our hardware-free solution. In addition, eligible members of the American Apparel and Footwear Association (AAFA) will receive an even better price as part of the 'RFID Savings Program' we signed with the AAFA."
