PORTALS
Industrial Portals(tm)
The Jamison Door Company announces the launch of their RFID portal product line called Industrial Portals(tm) (www.industrialportals.com). It was created to solve problems the RFID industry faces when deploying the technology, such as cost, durability, and hardware and integration capabilities. The patent-pending system is designed to fit traditional dock doorways, but is able to operate in almost any size opening. It includes an antenna bracket that allows for 3D vertical and horizontal movements and a hardware independent reader bracket. Antenna movement capabilities allow for RFID signal coverage. Several technical components come with the portal, including light stacks, motion detectors/ photo eyes, uninterrupted power supply, GPIO Bridge, and wireless networking. The GPIO bridge relieves issues associated with attaching input sensors, such as motion detectors, photo eyes, and floor loops or output signals (light stacks or readers). Replacing readers within the portal and reconnecting the GPIO devices requires on the change of a cable.
"To solve the issues associated with RFID deployment, we combined our core expertise in rugged doorway design and manufacturing with the knowledge and deployment experience brought by RFID integrators," says John Williams, Chairman and CEO of Jamison Door Company. "The portal allows users to easily install and integrate any RFID hardware/software systems with dramatically lower cost and with far superior capabilities than other portal systems."
