AXCESS Has Ultra-Thin Cards for Long Range
AXCESS International Inc. (www.axcessinc.com) releases an ultra-thin, long range, active RFID personal card credential. The cards contain an extremely thin embedded battery and electronics to automatically identify the carrier.
They can be activated on demand (called "semi-active operation") at entrances to report their location and direction. They transmit 30 to 100 feet, and therefore can operate reliably when located anywhere on the people carrying them. The application is based on AXCESS's ActiveTAG(tm) platform, which provides automatic personnel ID, location, and tracking as required.
Systems such as this are being used today in many applications including seminars, exhibits, hands-free access control, emergency evacuation, automatic recognition, cashless payment, and family tracking. It includes security authorization levels that can be changed. Card data is reported over the standard enterprise network to the OnlineSupervisor(tm) enterprise database and software system. Additionally, live video can be integrated with each tag event and recorded video clips can be linked to each incident. Likewise, it can be used to trigger security video recording and live remote video
