CAEN SpA's Family of UHF Development Kits

CAEN (www.rfid.caen.it) offers its EASY2READ¨ RFID development kits for quick implementation of small RFID solutions and pilot projects for data capture applications. With them, a company can deploy an RFID system to see if it is the right solution for its needs, and what kind of equipment is needed for specific applications. The kits include: an EASY2READ¨ reader and antenna; passive and semi-passive read/write tags designed for metal, cardboard, and temperature logging; UCODE 1.19 and Gen 2 labels; and a CD ROM containing a software library, EASY2READ Demo software (tools and sources), and technical documentation.

Four different kits are available, based on the multiprotocol readers belonging to the three families of CAEN EASY2READ¨ product line: small sized (kit mod. A828DKEU), medium sized (kit mod. A928DKEU), and large sized readers (kits mod. A928DKEU and A948DKEU).

The CAEN EASY2READ(TM) Demo software included in the kits allows the user to experiment with the capabilities of CAEN's main readers (Europe). A user-friendly interface lets the user do inventory and read, write, lock, or kill tags. Synchronous and asynchronous operating modes are available, allowing manual or automatic acquisition. The software can be used to control all CAEN EASY2READ¨ readers. Demo software includes tools developed in Visual C++, JAVA, and Microsoft .Net software.
