Cognitive Solutions’ Compact Industrial™ Printers Bridge the Gap

Cognitive Solutions presents its new line of printers whose price is positioned between desktop and mid-range printers. The Compact Industrial™ line of printers have the small footprint and pricing of desktop printers, with the performance of mid-range printers. There are two versions of the printer (both in 2" and 4" models): the CI, which prints at 6" per second and has 8 MB of memory, and the CXI, which prints at 8" per second and has 16 MB of memory.

With an internal Ethernet, connectivity is built into the printer without the hassle of an external print server. Fast 32-bit 200 MIPs processor provides fast throughput and fast first label out speed. The printers have large roll capacity, an LCD user interface, near edge tearing, and are RFID-ready. “What you really have here is the i-Pod of the printer business,” says Raul Palacios, Cognitive’s Director of Product Management. “We really focused on user needs to conserve space with a small, light, and easy to use printer.”
