ADASA Debuts Gen 2 Portable Tag Encoder
ADASA Inc. (www.adasainc.com) announces its new product—the PAD3500 mobile Gen 2 wireless RFID device. The PAD3500 is a portable, belt-worn RFID encoding system that eliminates the need for being connected to stationery mobile tagging stations. It is currently being beta tested and will be available in volume shipments later this year.
What makes the PAD3500 special is the patent pending SmartCartridge™ that provides technology allowing for quick, convenient, and reliable reloading of the PAD3500 tag encoder with Gen 2 tags. The SmartCartridge™ has the capacity to hold 500 Gen 2 tags from a variety of vendors. Combined with a portable data terminal or a voice directed pick system, the encoder can function as a complete Gen 2 RFID tagging solution for asset tracking, direct store deliver tagging, mixed pallet tagging, retail in-store tagging, mis-pick correction, voice-directed pick and tag, and vehicle mounted tag encoding.
“The PAD3500 will enable customers to have a complete portable RFID encoding system that provides the ease to walk to pick points without being tied to stationery or bulky mobile tagging stations, thus the PAD3500 seamlessly integrates with existing business practices,” says Clarke McAllister, President of ADASA. “The PAD3500 will completely change the current 'tag-and-ship RFID tagging process.”
