Secura Key, CCL Label Create Reader/Writer for Pharmacies
 |
| Secura Key and CCL Label designed their reader/writer offerings
for pharmacies, with small footprint in mind. |
Chatsworth, Calif. and Highstown, N.J.-Secura Key, manufacturer of RFID
technology cards and card readers, has partnered with CCL Label, which
provides multi-color and multi-layer RFID labels and package inserts with
virtually any type of RFID inlay, to produce a reader/writer that is suitable
for wide-scale deployment within pharmacies.
The firms developed two reader form factors with limited
footprint in mind. One product (Model ET4-AUC, shown at right, above) is
shaped like a small, flat-topped pyramid (3x2x2.4"), while the other
(Model ET4-AUP, below) resembles a mouse pad, say company officials. A
single USB cable carries power to the units and data back to the PC.
Both soon-to-be-released products are ISO 15693-based.
